Department/Committee/Team: Chinese Leader(s): ZHANG RONGHUA 1.  What was the current need/gap that you were addressing? 1.• Chinese composition is a comprehensive reflection of students' Chinese language abilities, yet it is also one of the more challenging aspects of their learning. 2.• Teachers often set writing requirements and provide writing techniques. While students may understand the writing requirements and how to approach the task, they still lack a clear and specific concept of what a finished composition should look like. 3.• Although students study texts from their textbooks, these texts are not designed or organized from a writing perspective, and they are often disconnected from the actual content of students' writing tasks. For example, for material-based compositions on exams, students cannot find any similar texts in their textbooks. The Performing Arts CCAs had not had an opportunity to stage their own CCA productions for a live public audience since the pandemic. Festival of Arts 2024 hence provided a platform for student agency and creative expression in the arts, as each CCA conceptualised and managed their own concert/production. To create a signature NYGH programme that builds on the resources of the school in championing community education and student leadership development, and leverages the facilities that the NYGH boarding school offers. 2.  How had it been experimented and enacted? BSE+ is a pilot residential leadership programme that brought together 17 students from both NYGH and cluster schools (Unity Secondary School, Dunearn Secondary School) to live and learn together in the NY Boarding School over a 12-day period. Through a series of curated activities, students honed skills in independent living, leadership and service. The IT room is operated by 24/7 and the air con is needed to cool the room, if the air con is breakdown will cause the alarm to trigger due to high temperature inside the room , , the high temperature will cause the alarm to trigger , the alarm bell is located at outside server main entrance wooden door just below ceiling , now the problem we face is especially when during the midnight , when there is the alarm activated , the bell will ring and is very loud , this will directly affected the residence that stay opposite or along the school , the other issue we concern is when EOY exam going and this will affected the class students , the bell will ring provided the system is back to normal or it will keep on ringing and non-stop . When the jackets delivered to school, Board of Elected Leaders had to sort out the jackets and respective CCA BEL will collect on behalf of the CCA. They had to spend time to distribute to their teammates and handle any discrepancies. 2. How had it been experimented and enacted? This year we had arranged the vendor to be on site on 1 of the common recesses. Scheduled the students in batches to collect their orders directly from the vendor. 3. Which group(s) had benefited? Presented the idea of giving vouchers to all staff for their birthdays instead of a physical gift. The existing model of giving physical gifts contribute to wastage & environmental unfriendliness, should gifts not be to staff's liking. Vouchers allow staff flexibility to buy whatever they require. Staff can also opt to donate vouchers to charity in the school's name which contribute to NYGH CSR efforts. How had it been experimented and enacted? Had a meeting with SWC chairman, SWC advisor & SH community Development to discuss the idea. SWC chairman brought the idea to Bursar. And she discussed with management team and was agreed and approved on 12/7/2023. It was implemented in 2024. What was the positive impact? 1) reduced wastage of gifts 2) flexibility for staff to buy what they need.

Infuse reflective moments within the regular cohort-wide school science notes where students will apply metacognition to reflect on 1. which areas they are good at 2. which areas they need help 3. which areas they initially struggle but later figured out 4. their advice for peers in similar situations What was the positive impact?
