Install Auto Motion Light Sensor at all staff toilets for classroom block, science block & handicapped.

1.  What was the current need/gap that you were addressing?
As we know. currently the staff toilets at classroom block, science block and handicapped, the on / off switch is operated using manual, the situation now is when users turn on the toilet light switch, but somehow never turn off after out of the toilet. The infrastructure and security will try to turn off the light if we see it, especially after work or during the night when security is doing patrol.

2.  How had it been experimented and enacted?
The perfect ideally is to Install auto motion light sensor at all staff toilets, we seek the help from supplier and meet them to discuss what type of light sensor to be implement , the supplier sourcing the light sensor model and we do the test for the toilet , we let the sensor to operated a few day , along the way we also try adjusted the motion sensitivity and also the timing to cut off after user out of the toilet. The plan is work and we start to bring in the light sensor after HOD given the green light to implement it.

All Teaching Staff, All Non-Teaching Staff

4.  What was the positive impact?
The positive impact is this implement matter can go for energy saving and also the light fitting part the wear and tear will be reduce.

5.  What is a future need that this IdEas@work could meet?
Beside implemented for toilet use , the motion light sensor can also be use for school (etc...office , store )

As GCP resumes after Covid, there are many areas we need to review and to refresh memory for the staff and students, so as to ensure meaningful and safe cross-cultural learning from all the trips. The Sec 2 and Sec 3 cohort trips were massive and involved a large number of staff, including EAS colleagues. Safety SOPs have been revised by MOE as well, to take into consideration new developments and trends all over the world, and to focus on developing students and teachers e21CC.
