1. What was the current need/gap that you were addressing?
1. Chinese Language & Culture Department is the sole department organizing the Bilingual Youth Model United Nations. All councils in the Bilingual Youth Model United Nations helmed by teachers from the Chinese Language & Culture Department. 2. No activities in the Bilingual Youth Model United Nations for student participants to mingle around in an informal setting.

2.  How had it been experimented and enacted?
1. Invited Humanities Department & English Department to organize Bilingual Youth Model United Nations 2024 together. Humanities Department will helm the 4 councils with English as primary working language, as well as the Social Night. English Department will helm the Press Corp Council together with the Chinese Language & Culture Department. 2. Invited Taiwan Nanshan High School to helm the United Nations World Tourism Organization Council with Chinese as primary working language. Taiwan Nanshan High School is a school with many years of experiences in organizing Model United Nations. 3. Included a Social Night on the last day of the Bilingual Youth Model United Nations 2024 for all student participants to mingle around in an informal setting.

4.  What was the positive impact?
1. We have tapped on the expertise that Taiwan Nanshan High School, Humanities Department & English Department could offer to enhance the quality of the Bilingual Youth Model United Nations 2024. We have learnt a lot about organizing Model United Nations in Chinese through our collaborations with Taiwan Nanshan High School. 2. With the addition of the Social Night, student participants have enjoyed themselves and made friends with student participants from other schools.

5.  What is a future need that this IdEas@work could meet?
1. With the great collaborations with Taiwan Nanshan High School, we were able to send our students to participate in Nanshan Model United Nations Conference 2025 and have one of our student representatives to participate as an internal for Nanshan Model United Nations Conference 2025 which she will be attached to the Secretariat of Nanshan Model United Nations Conference 2025 to learn more about how to organize Model United Nations. 2. With the success in our collaborations with the Humanities Department & English Department, we will continue to collaborate with these 2 departments for the Bilingual Youth Model United Nations 2026. 3. With the success of cross schools and cross departments collaborations, we are looking into the possibility of collaborating with Hwa Chong Institution Chinese Department and get them to helm one of the councils in the Bilingual Youth Model United Nations 2026.

To provide a platform for interaction between students who take Literature in Chinese or are interested in Chinese Literature from different schools. To promote an interaction between writer from Malaysia and students and writers from Singapore. To cause awareness for local students about writing among writers beyond the local arena. To increase the interests and level of appreciation of local students in the area of Chinese Literature. To level up the assessment literacy of literature teachers among different schools. 2.
