What was the current need/gap that you were addressing? The BSP program addresses the need to nurture globally-oriented scholars who remain deeply rooted in Singapore’s context. Key gaps include limited exposure to local community challenges, difficulty bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world practice, and a lack of opportunities to cultivate empathy and civic awareness. The MP Attachment Programme fills these gaps by engaging students in grassroots activities such as Meet-the-People Sessions and community events. There is a growing pool of students who wish to engage in active living (e.g., sports) during school breaks such as common recess periods. These students have previously approached the Physical Education (PE) department, expressing interest in having regular, organized activities accessible to the school population. Many of these activities, being team-based sports, require a sufficient number of participants to be viable.
