Streamlining of Microsite Information with UI in Mind

Contributed by LIN JIASUI, LEE XIAO-EN TABITHA, ROZELLS MARK GREGORY

Current Situation:

While the use of the different microsites helps to categorise the different links and forms, these links and forms are not intuitively found by users because it requires staff to think about WHO is in charge rather than WHAT is involved. (e.g. Student Incident Report is found under Infrastructure when intuitively it is a student matter; Temperature Taking is found under ICT when intuitively it is an admin matter).

Improvement:

If the microsites are meant to help staff, it might make more sense to categorise the required forms and links based on why/when they are used rather than who looks at the information. This will reduce confusion and staff having to randomly click on different microsites to find what they need, or end up just starring the link directly / saving the file, which defeats the purpose of having a microsite in the first place.
