Objectives/Targets
To enliven the art spaces in school to make them more inspiring for students to work in and grow with their learning.

To enable the location of commonly used equipment and allow equipment to be replaced after use.  This also allows the ease of midyear and year-end stock take.

Implementation Process

Brought out old/uncollected  students works that were in the archives , and taking up space, collecting dust, and hung in spaces in the art rooms. This has not been actively done before and the classrooms were quite bare before.

Improvising DIY systems to store commonly used equipment
-         use of L brackets to hang light boxes in every art classroom
-         DIY wooden structures with screws as hooks to hang and secure all metal rulers in every  classroom so they will be accounted for.

Extent of Improvement/
Targets met

Students and new teachers were able to learn and admire the artworks that provided a refreshing look to a stale classroom.

This has freed up spaces in the art store rooms, and allowed new works from 2016 to be kept.

Stock take was a breeze for the year end stock take with all assets accounted for. We usually have missing stock and search high and low to locate them .

For instance, the light boxes that were hung on the walls under the whiteboard were distinct. Hair dryers and metal rulers that were always misplaced has its place clearly at the front of the classrooms.

Objectives/Targets
To recover misplaced items and create a better system to account for all general stationery.

A termly stock take was implemented.

Implementation Process

At the start of the year, general stationery that is frequently used by teachers for students in class activities, were loaned out to each teacher.

These items were carefully accounted for, and placed into separate stackable boxes for ease of transport and storage.

Before signing the items out to respective teachers, a form was created that had all items loaned out listed, which the teacher will counter sign.

Termly reminder sent out at least a week before the termly stock take.

Extent of Improvement/
Targets met

With the system in place, teachers approached Michelle before term breaks to check in the items, and report for lost or damaged items.

This allowed Michelle to facilitate the process of replacing the damaged items, or lost items, instead of discovering the shortage of equipment during class on the teacher’s part.

This system thus helped with efficiency in classroom management, as the term starts again with a complete set of tools with sufficient quantity enough for class.
