Objectives/Targets
To raise students' interest in and awareness of the news headlines and language.

Implementation Process

Introduce an engaging 15-minute Chinese broadcast radio programme – 华语加油站/ ‘Chinese Cheers’- produced in-house, recorded on a weekly basis.  The first part will have 4-5 latest news headlines, followed by the entertainment programme in the second part, where a Chinese pop song will be introduced.  In this part, the teacher will share some Chinese language or writing skill related to the song lyric. 
Besides the radio version, there is also a video version. The school librarian Mr. Wendi supports in making the video based on the broadcast sound track, and publishes on Youtube. Chinese Language teachers will then share the video with their students in class.
As of 26 July, we have produced 18 episodes of华语加油站/ ‘Chinese Cheers’ programme.  All the videos and radios are uploaded onto Youtube and the school LMS portal respectively.

Targets met
Some Chinese Language teachers play the broadcast audios during their CL lessons. Students also watch the programme on Youtube via their mobile devices. The programme has been well received.

As GCP resumes after Covid, there are many areas we need to review and to refresh memory for the staff and students, so as to ensure meaningful and safe cross-cultural learning from all the trips. The Sec 2 and Sec 3 cohort trips were massive and involved a large number of staff, including EAS colleagues. Safety SOPs have been revised by MOE as well, to take into consideration new developments and trends all over the world, and to focus on developing students and teachers e21CC.
