With great knowledge comes great power comes great responsibility

Current Situation:

Over the past year (and before), our school building has been a death trap for a variety of bird species: birds crashing into glass windows, birds trapped in vault ceiling.

Improvement:

Bird-proof our building by work with NUS researchers and/or other ornithologists: turn this problem into an inquiry project for staff. A separate essay will be sent to Wen Di for consideration. The gains (human and animal, learning, compassion...) are likely to make cost savings irrelevant.

*UV film has been affixed on the glass panes of the stretch of windows on Level 4 that are in the common path of flight of the birds visiting our campus.  The film allows the birds to "see" the stretch of windows as a barrier, thus preventing any possible collision.  Birds are able to "see" UV light being reflected from the glass panes.  The School also consulted the expert from NUS on how to prevent birds from being trapped within the high-ceiling void of the GO foyer.  The expert is in the process of discussing with other ornithologists/ experts.
