Contributed by TAN LU HOON @ IRENE TAN Current Situation:  Teachers state different numbers on the exam paper cover page - some count the cover page as a printed page, but others do not. Some put the "End of Paper" on the blank page and others put it on the last printed page. Improvement: To inform teachers to count the cover page in the total number of printed pages; To put the "End of Paper" indicator on the last printed page, if there is a last page that is a blank page.

Contributed by LIM HWEE SING SHIRLEY Current Situation: 在学校的后门出口处加一个【请注意脚踏车的告示牌】 因为学校后门出口处常常会有许多脚踏车骑士经过，而且速度很快，如果学生谈话又没有注意到脚踏车的话，很容易会被撞伤。因为我见过几次这样的危险情况。 Nowadays there are many cyclists riding on bikes or PMD at high speed on footpath outside school side gate, which could risk our girls. Improvement: 在学校的后门出口处加一个【请注意脚踏车的告示牌】 We should put a 'Be aware of Cyclists!' signage outside school side gate.

Improvement: We should use a common platform to upload and share slides, whether via Google Drive or SSOE2 shared drives. For easier reference, retrieval and archive. Due to safety concern, the old mirror is replace. Acrylic mirror does not chip so is better than mirror because of cut hazard Cost for custom made mirror (17x19cm)   with stand - $12               37 piece is $444 Cost of acrylic mirror               (17x19cm)    with stand - $4                 37 piece is $148 Total savings is $296

It collects oxygen at the anode (positive terminal) and hydrogen at the cathode (negative terminal) when current is applied. Platinum electrode consist of a small piece of platinum foil soldered to copper wire inside the glass tubing. When the glass tubing broke, the platinum electrode becomes unusable. The Platinum is expensive and still can be used. The broken platinum is soldered to copper wire and rehoused in a pvc tubing. Pvc tubing is used to prevent future breakage hot glue is to seal and protect the copper wire from corrosion. The pvc tubing cost $2 per meter and hot gun tube cost 90 cents of 4pcs. A pair of platinum electrodes cost $68. 3 pairs will cost $204. Savings for 5 years will be $1020.

Contributed by SAM CHOON JUEN Current Situation: Each year, all direct staff are to submit hardcopies declaration of at least 4 compulsory forms. When staff receive such information, we will from our laptop print a copy of the form we need to submit. Multiplied by about 100 (?) direct staff, that will mean the use of quite a bit of toner in the printer. Improvement: The HR unit can photocopy sufficient copies of the compulsory forms and leave them, either in the GO, for distribute to each dept for our use. I believe this will save some toner in the printer. And I also wonder if such declaration can be submitted electronically. I am not sure. But if possible, it will also save a huge amount of paper.

Contributed by SAM CHOON JUEN. Current Situation: I understood that the sec 2 SPICE teachers were told to attend PD sessions which are scheduled at 3 different time slots. One slot is very very early in the morning. One slot is usually during lesson time and one slot in at night, 9pm. Many teachers with lessons at the second time slot were attending PD sessions at 9pm to accommodate the trainer based in US. Improvement: Suggestion was made to Sec 2 SPICE ic (Mae and Jean) to allow teachers to attend the second PD slot. Previously, when we were on course, we can either swop lessons, assign work or get our colleagues to cover the lesson for us. The ic had taken up the suggestion, with the support of the acad heads.
