Library Online Sign In/Out form
Contributed by Wen Di
Present Situation:
In view of current COVID-19 situation, students who enter and exit library need to sign in and out, for better contact tracing. Currently they can use the sign in/out sheet to manually register info such as student name, class, time in, time out, etc. However, during the recess period or lesson time, we could observe the long queue to sign in/out, and sometimes students may forget to keep safe distance. Manually recording will cause long queue and extra time. What's worse, it could increase the risk of spreading the virus.Improvement:
I have designed and made a simple Google form, students only need to key their name, class and indicate sign in or out will do. As the system will auto capture time and date, it saves a lot of time for our visitors. I generated QR code to link to the sign in/out form. Students can easily scan the QR code in the posters near entrance and biometric door on top levels. We still keep the manual form around in case there are students who do not have their phone with them when they go to the library. As of 30 Jun, there are more than 900 visitors captured by system. From wk 5 (with all levels back to school), 150 - 200 visitors are captured daily.
