Our corporate video was very outdated and no longer relevant.
Instead of getting a professional vendor to produce the video, Principal challenged me to take it as a student-led project. After giving it much thought, given our students' talent and passion, I decided to take on the challenge despite the tight deadline and likely lack of certain resources or expertise. After getting Mark Shone and Mark Tan on board, they discussed with NYAV students who took on the task valiantly. Along the way, we had to make many edits to improve the production. But it truly exemplified the power of me as each of us had to learn on the go, and used our time management skills, and communication skills to collaborate meaningfully. It also was an excellent platform for the power of community as NYAV had to rally the whole school for the drone takes, and they interviewed BOD, Alumnae, and PSG for the content. Finally, it is also a way to present the power of yet as this video can now be shown locally and globally and inspire many more generations of NYGH past, present, and future students. There were challenges and hiccups along the way, but as a team, we explored options. The students also shared at the launch that they felt more confident of themselves, they are better at communicating, and they feel truly empowered as agents of change as they worked on this new school video.
Students (Entire Cohort), All Teaching Staff, All Non-Teaching Staff, Our stakeholders eg. Partner schools
A sense of pride to be a member of the Nanyang Family not only because it is a student-empowered project but because it tells the narrative of our school and our diverse and rich offerings and the impact on students, past and present.
We can use it for GCP and overseas visit to showcase our school identity.
