1) Platform for fostering school spirit within the student body and strengthening relations within and across classes 2) Exploration for a more meaningful and interactive celebration of Youth Day.
1) The funfair allowed for a school-wide fundraising activity for NY Gives Back and this allowed for Youth Day to be celebrated in a more meaningful way. With Racial Harmony Day happening in the same month, we had the opportunity to celebrate and commemorate both important events together. 2) Student leaders planned for whole school activities to excite and bond the school - mass events (cheers, dances, busking), radio 191.7, decoration of common areas, publicity and redemption booths. 3) For the sale of coupons, accounts department allowed the use of Paynow QR code, on top of cash collections. 4) Students were encouraged to set up their stalls with Racial Harmony Theme. They were also reminded to reduce wastage, recycle and reuse, to encourage sustainability. 5) PSG and Alumni supported with setting up stalls and participating in the event.
Students (Entire Cohort), All Teaching Staff, All Non-Teaching Staff
1) The school came together to celebrate Youth Day and Racial Harmony Day on 28 June 2024. All funds raised goes towards NY Gives Back. This allowed for a more meaningful celebration for Youth Day and Racial Harmony Day. 2) The additional mode of paynow QR code allowed parents and staff to place order for funfair coupons with convenience. This also allowed for the collation of staff orders to be streamlined and efficient, with the order going direct to Accounts Department. There is no need for SWC members to collect the order and cash. SWC members need only do the distribution of the coupons. 3) In promoting sustainability, students were creative, and used reused items from home to reduce wastage. The student leaders also encourage and promote the use of digital publicity (social media, padlet for class posters, digital TV display), and cap the number of printed posters for each class. 4) The Sec 1 students were tasked to research and do up posters of the organisations for NY Gives Back. This allowed for the school population to better understand each of the organisations. With the pledged coupons, the beneficials were also able to join us in enjoying the funfair. 4) From the feedback from staff, they enjoyed the funfair. The students were also able to learn and develop class spirit, collaboration, creativity and innovation, community involvement and sense of contribution, celebrating different cultures, and hone their entreperneurial skills. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/11zGMI6coKeHB3_4bjkCF4ik4wlggYMY2fAnMPIiKTNA/viewanalytics
