Holistic management enhancement for Guzheng Ensemble (CCA)(2020-2023)

What was the current need/gap that you were addressing?

Guzheng CCA is one of the many CCAs in the school. As a CCA team with over 50 members, there is a need for a comprehensive, systematic, efficient, and targeted management mechanism. Looking at the previous management approach of Guzheng, it primarily involved passive compliance with the school's management requirements, lacking proactive and targeted self-management. The main issues included: 1. Guzheng scheduling (training activities, etc.) being adversely affected by excessive uncontrollable factors, resulting in a lack of stability. 2. Insufficient granularity in the design and determination of Guzheng training activities, not specifying them on a weekly or even session basis. 3. Inefficient student attendance management (e.g., roll call). 4. Insufficient logistical support for Guzheng training (management of instruments, scores, etc.). 5. Students lacking opportunities and platforms to actively participate in the development of the Guzheng team and a sense of belonging to the Guzheng team.

What was the positive impact?
(1) Established a better coordination and collaboration mechanism among teachers. (2) Students' routine activities are more standardized and rational, leading to higher efficiency. (3) Students exhibit stronger teamwork awareness and proactiveness, showing greater enthusiasm for participating in team activities and development. (4) The process of strengthening management also provides a more open platform for students to unleash their creativity. (5) The Guzheng team's goals now extend beyond fulfilling the school's various tasks; it is also beginning to shape its unique team culture.

What is a future need that this IdEas@work could meet?
(1) Every student possesses leadership and management abilities or potential. (2) Team operations need to be more efficient. (3) Team management should focus on macro-level control and attention to detail. (4) A vibrant team is a thriving one.
