Prior Notice for Booking of Facilities

Contributed by CHEW MUI FONG Current Situation: The teachers book the facilities before the announcement of the dates for various Oral exam / Listening Compre exam. When the in-charges of these internal / external exams announce the dates, the previous bookings are void, as these exam take priority. Improvement: These Oral / Listening Compre exam are conducted every year, using similar venues each time. These dates and venues should be announced earlier so that the staff can avoid booking these facilities. And the resource booking portal should block off the dates and venues to avoid the situation of forced cancellation.

Install light motion sensor

Contributed by ANG PECK HAI, THNG CHYE HOCK Current Situation: The admin block area L2 and L3 corridor near to study corner, so when teacher and student need to use for revision their homework before or after the class. The area there is a problem when weather is cloudy or start to rain, the area will become dark, the teacher and student for them is very difficult to conduct the homework revision The existing timer control for light is already fixed from 7pm to next following day 7am, so after the specific time is over then the light will turn off, the maintenance team will need standby or sometime have received call from user to turn on the timer switch again and is very troublesome. The maintenance team somehow busy somewhere and cannot turn up on time to attend user requested. Improvement: The ideally propose is to install the Light Photo sensor for the specific area, the advantage is that the Photo Sensor will detect the ambient lux condition, whenever the Lux resistance is to trig

Staff Awards Presentation

Contributed by SEOW PEI SHAN Current Situation: Recipients will only know they are 1 of the recipients during the presentation. Improvement: Might be good that recipients are informed in advance. Though is presented during Staff meeting where all Staff supposed to attend, EAS might have different reporting time. Just sharing my views, recipients might want to make special arrangement if he/she would like to receive the awards personally from Principal. As for the teachers, they might be out for official duties or on leave, he / she can informed his / her RO or HR in advance that he / she is unable to be there to receive the awards. This might help to make the presentation go smoothly.

Operating time Signage for side gate turnstile

Contributed by TAN CHOON HUI Current Situation: There is only signage for side gate opening hours but none for turnstile operating hours, some students keep saying ez link card doesn't work but after checking, they tap at the wrong timing cause they assume it's 24/7. Improvement: Students will know the operating hours of turnstile.

Booking of Special Rooms booked for events and exams

Contributed LIM GUAT HA Current Situation: ICs send out emails to all staff to inform them of rooms that are out of bounds because of exams (or other events). However, on the booking system for the dates that the rooms are out of bounds, the rooms are not booked / blocked off from the system. Improvement: Ensure that rooms that are booked for events/exams are actually booked in the booking system so that even when teachers forget about the email notification (OR forget the dates), they cannot book the rooms. It's happened that we sometimes forget and book the room in the morning, and then arrive at the room before lesson to realise it is out of bounds and cannot be used. Certainly tangible benefits to having such a systematic process in place. We used to do this in the past - booking administrator would send an email to alert all of over-riding their earlier booking - but this is no longer practised.

Pop up box in HRIS for Receipts of Claims for Dependents' medical costs

Contributed by TAN YAN YAN Current Situation: Previously, the Accounts officer has to email staff individually for submission of original receipts to Accounts for internal audit purposes. Improvement: HRIS system automatically prompts claimants to submit receipts for claims for spouse and dependent claims, this reduces the number of emails the Accounts officer has to send out for the purpose of audit checks, improving productivity and quality of control.

Hooks and Phone Holder in Toilet

Contributed by WONG YING TYNG Current Situation: There is only one hook available in the female toilets (possibly same for toilets school-wide), which is a bit inconvenient at times. When we get changed, we might have different set of clothing, as well as mask, tote bag etc to hang, 1 hook might not be enough. Sometimes female teachers bring phone into the toilet, it'll be good to have a phone holder because our clothing don't always have pockets. Improvement: We can consider adding more hooks to the toilets (behind the door or on the wall), as well as a flat surface phone/ small items holder.
