The initiative addresses the need to broaden students’ exposure to diverse Chinese media and deepen their understanding of global and regional issues. While students traditionally rely on Lianhe Zaobao for news, this limits their engagement with other reputable Chinese media outlets or official translations of global reports. Additionally, there is a gap in students’ awareness of ASEAN-related developments, which are crucial given Singapore’s regional context. By incorporating non-Zaobao articles and ASEAN-focused content, the program encourages students to explore varied perspectives, enhance their language skills, and develop a more comprehensive understanding of both local and global current affairs. 2. Shows overall thrends and presenting issues of the students. Very helpful to look into providing wholistic support for each student as we gather termly to update on case management. 3. What was the current need/gap that you were addressing? 1. House system: The need to provide a platform for school wide bonding amongst students so as to foster a sense of belonging, encourage team work and positive competition. 2. Direct purchase from Taobao: Maximise the budget that has been allocated for the above event. 2. How had it been experimented and enacted? 1. House system: The houses were named according to school values and students from alternate classes were allocated to each house (e.g. students from X01, X05, X09 were in 1 house, those from X02, X06, X10 were in the 2nd house) and encouraged to work with one another through activities organised at class level, cohort level and school level towards a common goal -- rescue xiaozhang. 2.
