Rest Programme in NYGH

Present Situation:

When the school reopened in June 2020 after Circuit Breaker, we foresee that there will be adjustment needed for staff during the reopening and adapt progressively to the new normal. In terms of Staff Wellbeing programme, we knew that we could not do physical meet up for Zumba, having Staff Family Day, and other bonding activities. Hence, we need to explore another way to support staff wellbeing especially in the area of emotions and social.

Improvement:

We explored to co-design a rest programme for our staff with Ms Yap Youmin from Xiu Nature Connection. Ms Yap has earlier shared with Luis on various customised wellbeing programme that she co-designed with other schools and organisations and we were keen to explore that. The rest programme took a principle from Yoga Nidra which gave a way to relax body and mind that would lead to increased productivity and healthier state of the mind. We invited Ms Yap to share about her work and give a try out session during one Friday morning PD, and subsequently SWC worked to gather interests from staff and the preferred timing to do it. Once the feedback was gathered, a 4 weekly sessions were run over the month of July for the staff to benefit from the programme.
