PD Needs Form for Mentoring

Present Situation:

Presently, we feel the need to have closer coordination in mentoring in the following areas: 1) Communication from Acad Heads to PD team on the mentoring needs of an officer 2) Ways to record salient points during mentoring sessions that led to comprehensive review of the process after the lesson observation 3) Common documentation for Acad Heads, Mentors, and Mentees for conversation.

Improvement:

With all these needs in mind, the LT and SSD discussed to come up with a PD need forms and establish the following flow to be implemented at the end of 2020 for mentoring in 2021. The PD needs forms take reference from KRAs so that it aligns with EO performance review process and has been customised according to the different substantive grades (eg. GEO4 form is slightly different from GEO5 forms as the expectation for each KRA is spelled out differently). We would require the Acad Heads to fill up the PD needs form when they identify officers to be mentored in 2021, and the form will be passed on to the assigned mentor. The form will then become the template to track, record salient points, and points of reference for conversation throughout the mentoring process.
