·       To strengthen NYGH's friendship with the participating schools
·       To contribute to the tree-planting efforts in Pulau Ubin
·       To document the trees planted in a book that will be placed in the time capsule on 15 Aug 2017

Implementation Process

Jan 2016 - wrote to different partner schools/alumni about the proposal

Jan 2016 - confirming details with NParks and Pulau Ubin about the tree planting plan

Jan - Aug 2017 - Collation of replies from different partners and photos.

22 May 2017 - Planting of 53 trees in Pulau Ubin (1 tree per class + 1 tree for the school staff and BOD)

July 2017 - Making of the video clip on the project for the 100th anniversary gala dinner. (By then, we have already exceeded the target of 100 trees, with a total of 126 trees in Asia, America, Africa and Australia.)

29 July 2017 - The video clip was shown at the gala dinner

Jan - Aug 2017 - Making of the book collating the photos and leaves of the trees (After discussion, two books were created instead - one for the time capsule and one for the school archive.)

15 Aug 2017 - One book was placed in the time capsule and one book was displayed at the heritage gallery
