NYGH brand plastic bottled water

 Current situation:
NYGH orders small plastic bottled water with NYGH brand name for issuing to visitors or special school events, as part of our branding exercise.

 Improvement:
We know plastic bottles are a major source of environmental pollution. We should stop this practice to do our part for the environment. Cost of 10 cartons = 20 x 24 x $0.20 = $96

The initiative addresses the need to broaden students’ exposure to diverse Chinese media and deepen their understanding of global and regional issues. While students traditionally rely on Lianhe Zaobao for news, this limits their engagement with other reputable Chinese media outlets or official translations of global reports. Additionally, there is a gap in students’ awareness of ASEAN-related developments, which are crucial given Singapore’s regional context. International Friendship Day - Exchange Programmes with Asian Schools

The project addressed a gap in how International Friendship Day (IFD) was traditionally commemorated, which was typically through Kahoot quizzes or student-led presentations on other countries. While informative, these activities were largely passive, surface-level, and lacked authentic engagement with peers beyond Singapore. As a result, students had limited opportunities to develop deeper cross-cultural skills, global orientation, and an appreciation of Singapore’s geopolitical realities. Our rapidly evolving global landscape demands more than factual knowledge; it requires students to practise openness, empathy, and international collaboration.
